Developing a sense of community
There are hundreds of beautiful towns in the United States, and each of them has a claim to fame. Whether it’s the Fire Hydrant Capital of the world in Albertville, Ala.; the giant statue of Paul Bunyan welcoming visitors to Brainerd, Minn.; or the giant ice cream sundae statue in LeMars, Iowa; every city has a desire to be known for something.

Benner proposes 9-story project

Through a recent merger New Jersey’s Provident Bank opened an old building with a new face at a celebration for local residents Sept. 13. Manager Leigh A. Summer festival rocks
Multitalented musician Maureen “Moe” Jerant of Bethlehem, welcomes audience participation during a sing-along session of the Large Flowerheads concert at the Muhlenberg Summer Festival. Jerant alternates as drummer, guitarist and vocalist. Lead guitarist Bill Trexler of Allentown plays on the left, with John Harkins on keyboards and Greg Geist on drums in the back. The band is known for its 1960s and early 70s nostalgic rock-and-roll music.

Volleyballers 'Dig Pink'
Every Bethlehem Catholic HS sports program is required by Principal John Petruzzelli to do at least one community service project. The girls’ volleyball team chose to help fight breast cancer. All money raised goes to the Side Out Foundation, which promotes cancer-related fundraising by volleyball teams. This year alone, the team raised more than $2,800 for the foundation.
